Vehicle Lease Return Information

Is your Mercedes-Benz lease coming to an end? At Ray Catena of Freehold, we can help with that. Our team understands just how popular car leases are in New Jersey, and that is especially true when it comes to the Mercedes-Benz brand. Because of that, our team is here to help when it comes to the end of lease process.

Preparing for Lease-End

As you approach the end of your lease, it’s essential to start preparing for the return of your vehicle. MBFS will contact you approximately 120 days before your contract maturity date to discuss your options and guide you through the next steps.

Step 1

Schedule Your Vehicle Pre-Inspection

Around 90 to 120 days before your lease ends, schedule a complimentary pre-inspection with an independent third-party inspection company. This pre-inspection will identify any excess wear and use, giving you time to address any issues before the final inspection.

Step 2

Review Pre-Inspection Results

After the pre-inspection, you’ll receive a Vehicle Condition Review detailing any excess wear and tear. If necessary, you can make repairs to avoid additional charges at the lease end.

Step 3

Return Your Vehicle

When it’s time to return your vehicle, ensure you have all the necessary items, such as the maintenance booklet, owner’s manual, both sets of keys, and any other accessories provided at lease inception. Contact us to schedule the final vehicle return and inspection.

Step 4

Lease-End Statement

After returning your vehicle, you’ll receive a final lease-end statement detailing any charges incurred for mileage overages and/or excess wear and use based on the final third-party vehicle inspection.

End of Lease Options

Option 1:
Return and Transition to a New Vehicle
Option 2:
Purchase Your Off-Lease Vehicle
If you’re interested in getting behind the wheel of a new Mercedes-Benz, our team can facilitate this transition. You may be eligible for loyalty credits, such as a credit for excess wear and use charges up to $500 and a credit for the vehicle turn-in fee up to $595 if you lease or finance your next Mercedes-Benz vehicle with MBFS. If you’ve grown attached to your current Mercedes-Benz and wish to purchase it, our New Jersey Mercedes-Benz dealership can assist you with the steps to buy your vehicle. This option allows you to keep the car you love and avoid any concerns about excess wear and use or mileage overages.

Credit for Loyalty

MBFS values your loyalty and offers incentives to customers who choose to stay with the Mercedes-Benz family. These incentives can include payment credits on your current lease when you lease or finance a new Mercedes-Benz vehicle.

Vehicle Purchase Steps

If you decide to purchase your leased vehicle, here are the steps you’ll need to follow:

  • Contact our store or MBFS to express your interest in buying the vehicle.
  • Review the purchase option price, which is the residual value set at the beginning of your lease, along with any other applicable fees.
  • Decide whether to pay the purchase price outright or finance the amount through MBFS or another lender.
  • Complete any necessary paperwork and finalize the transaction to transfer ownership to you.
Option 3:
Extend Your Lease
You may be eligible to extend your lease under certain circumstances. If you’re not ready to part with your vehicle or transition to a new one yet, contact MBFS to discuss the possibility of extending your lease terms.
